Deadman’s Gulch Resolution Run to benefit Park City Freestyle

Hideout Town HallThe series begins on January 1 with the XTERRA Hideout Trail Run Series in Dead Mans Gulch.  This will be a resolution run 5k  trail run on the snow to benefit the Park City Freestyle team.  All trails are the same groomed hard pack that you would find while cross country skate skiing.   XTERRA Trail Run Series points will be awarded.  Dead Mans Gulch is located at  10860 No. Hideout Trail in Hideout, Utah near the Jordanelle reservoir.  What a great way to kick off your New Years resolution to become more active and healthy.  XTERRA series points will be awarded to all age group finishers in the trail race.  Races are scheduled to begin at 12:00pm.  Course maps will be posted as soon as they become available.

$10. early registration race fees will make this a great affordable family adventure for New Years Day.  Additional items such as t-shirts will be available as a-la-carte choices.

Race Rules
Pacing or companion runners are not allowed unless they are registered runners.  Unregistered runners are not allowed.  Bandits will be disqualified from this and future races, and may face criminal prosecution.
Race bibs and numbers must be worn on the front of the torso and not be modified by cutting or folding.  Numbers must be worn on the front and visible at all times, must not be modified by cutting or folding, and be clearly visible at all times.  Race officials will determine order of finish if racers cross the finish line together.
Runners must stay on the course.
Trails will be marked but the ultimate responsibility of knowing the course lies with the runner.  Runners must follow the marked trail.  Runners found off course will be disqualified.
Runners must yield passing room as soon as is reasonably possible to any runner who asks for the trail, uphill runners should yield to down hill runners.
Runners must complete the distance they registered for to receive an award.  You can not change your division post race start.
For safety reasons, runners who withdraw from the race should make every effort to inform a race official or aid station volunteer.
No littering, our races are considered Green race formats.  Please take out what you bring in and Leave No Trace.  Anyone caught deliberately littering the course will be immediately disqualified.

Inspection Time and Limits

Course maps are available and the course will be open 2 hours prior to the start time.  Courses will be open for inspection two hours prior to the race start, course inspection is recommended but not mandatory.  The courses will close at a designated time (there will not be a cutoff time in any of these races) that will be published with race registration information, you will not receive an official finish time after this closing time. You may continue on the course but volunteers and race officials may begin taking down directional signage.
